Am primit la redacție propunerile ARCASF pentru premiile Eurocon 2019, propuneri semnate de președintele asociației, criticul și scriitorul dl. Mircea Opriță. Ele se adaugă celor trimise de dl. Cătălin-Badea Gheracostea și publicate de noi acum câteva zile.

European-Science-Fiction-Society-2019Societatea Europeană de Science Fiction este o organizație internațională a profesioniștilor din domeniul SF și a fanilor, care se angajează să promoveze Science Fiction-ul în Europa și Science Fiction-ul European la nivel mondial.

Organizația a fost înființată la prima convenție europeană de science fiction, Eurocon, care a avut loc în 1972 la Trieste, Italia. De atunci, organizația a organizat convențiile europene de science fiction (Eurocon) cel puțin o dată la doi ani. Organizația administrează, de asemenea, Premiile Europene pentru SF.

GHEORGHE SĂSĂRMAN is one of the most prolific Romanian science fiction writers of all time. At the 1980 Italian Eurocon held in Streza, Sasarman was awarded the Europa Prize for the novel 2000, which was translated into German and published by the Fisher Verlag PH in Munich. His seminal work, Cuadratura Cercului (Squaring the Circle), published in 1978 at Dacia Publishing House, has been translated into French, Spanish, German and English (by Ursula K. LeGuin). Many of his short stories have been translated in Hungarian, Russian, Italian, German, French, Serbian. His latest novel, Adevărata cronică a morții lui Yeșua Ha-Nozri (The True Chronic of the Death of Yeșua Ha-Nozri) released in 2016 by Polirom is currently being translated into German. A translation of his book Squaring the Circle was published this year (June) in Japan.

CĂTĂLIN NEGREA is an important name in the new generation of Romanian artists. His art includes both digital (70%) and non-digital (30%) works, and revolves around the paradoxical connections within the space-time paradigm. Cătălin is a two-times winner of the National SF Convention Award (2012, 2017), and his works were exhibited individually and collectively in more than ten European countries. He has designed covers for a large number of books and magazines in Romania (Bastion Publishing House, Eurostampa, Tracus Arte, Helion Magazine etc.).

DAN DOBOŞ is a household name in the Romanian science-fiction landscape, and is considered one of the major S.F. writers alongside Mircea Opriță, Gheorghe Săsărman, Dănuț Ungureanu, Michael Hăulică, Liviu Radu and Florin Manolescu.  Dan Doboș is well known for being the bestselling author of Romanian science fiction. In his country, he has won all the sci-fi awards (Colin, RomCon, Ion Hobana, Galileo) and his trilogy, Abația (The Abbey) is considered to be, probably, the most important work of the genre in Romanian. His latest book, eu 2.0 (me 2.0) is a set of seven love stories centered on the enigmatic character of Cassandra, placed in an optimistic near future.

ADRIAN BARBU is a Romanian graphic artist famous both in Romania and on the Continent, known for his comic-books and his exhibitions in Cluj-Napoca, Bucharest, Brasov, Iasi. Best Creator of Children’s Science Fiction or Fantasy Books

FLAVIUS ARDELEAN is a latest wave Romanian writer, translator and essayist. So far, he has published two novels, ÎMBLÂNZIREA APELOR (Taming the Waters) and NOUMENOIR and two collections of short stories, ACLUOFOBIA and BIZAROPROZE (Bizarre Fictions). He is also the author of the MIASMA series, for which he was nominated twice in a row for the Young Writer Award, within the Young Writers’ Convention in Bucharest.
