Cornel Secu is a graduate of the Faculty of Philology, University of Timișoara. In 1980, Cornel Secu founded, at the Youth House in Timișoara, the „Helion” club of anticipation, from 1981 to the present, editor-in-chief of the printed magazine „Helion”, from 2010, editor-in-chief of „Helion Online”, executive president of A.R.C.A.S.F. (Romanian Association of Science-Fiction Clubs and Authors), laureate of the promoter award, granted by the European Society of Science Fiction – Eurocon 1994, author of several articles in various prestigious magazines.

Helion magazine, led from 1980 to the present by Cornel Secu, was one of the defining emblems of the Helion club (Timișoara), obtaining numerous national and international awards. In 1984 it received the first Eurocon award for the magazine, at the Eurocon in Brighton, Great Britain, in 1988 it obtained another Eurocon award in San Marino, Italy, in 2023, at the Eurocon in Italy, it was awarded again.

In Brăila, science fiction and fantasy literature is rejuvenated through the ArtZONE SF Literary Circle, continuing the tradition of the SFera Literary Circle. An unhappy boy, a Christmas wish, and… a metamorphosis. Platanos, “a novel for children of all ages”, is a dystopia, continuing the short story of the same title, studied in middle school, written at the request of students and teachers. Doina Ruști is an award-winning novelist, widely recognized as one of the most powerful voices in Eastern European literature. She is the author of fifteen novels and taught in Romanian schools. Her novel „The Book of Perilous Dishes” was published into English.

The magazine promotes SF & fantasy literature and art. Edited by Mircea Liviu Goga, it includes contributions from SFVA members, as well as national and international editors. Romcon (National Convention of Science-Fiction in Romania), this name appeared after the 1989 Revolution. The first meeting of this type took place in April 1972, in Bucharest. During these events, sci-fi writers from all over the country meet, listen to conferences on the established theme, and get national awards for Sci-Fi Literature and Art.
· The Chrysalis Awards: Alina Voinea
Alina Voinea has a background in web technologies, communication sciences, journalism and sociology and a passion for science-fiction dystopias. Her 2025 debut with Crux Publishing is „Sentient”, the first volume of the dystopian SF series Nordam 2190. Her short fiction has appeared on various Romanian niche and mainstream magazines and she has also authored books for children, including „Pisicul din câmp” (The Cat in the Field), the first easy-reader novel ever written in Romania, designed to help children with learning difficulties find their way into reading.
